The Gula Fund/Politiqueer

The GULA Fund, a for profit performance project dedicated to better the life
of one specific  Gay Undocumented Latino Artist, all the time, was launched within
the show POLITIQUEER by Voices Breaking Boundaries on December 11th 2011.
The GULA Fund auctioned a  performance consisting of  an unidentified GULA individual
coming to your place to mow your backyard naked and a GULA chocolate penis sculpture.

The most valuable aspect of this piece was the dialogue and reactions it sparked among
the attendees; some suggested the GULA individual should come to their home to perform
different shores such as laundry or dish-washing and no one purchased the penis sculpture.
A Gula Mowing Service performance was sold for the sum of 75 dollars.

PRESS MANIPULATION:

HOT N' COOL by Anita Latinlova at The Houston Entertainicle

Anita Latinlova, a performance art alter ego, wrote for the frisky Houston newspaper
from January to June of 2011. Through this endeavor, she highlighted her favorite art
events in town and interviewed some of the coolest and hottest artists such as Stephanie Saint Sanchez
Julia Wallace, Aisen Caro Cachin and  Emily Sloan. In her final article, she interviewed  another alter ego
living inside of her, and things got messy (Special thanks to Keith Reynolds and Ashley Horn).

The December 2011 show is curated by Sima Shakhsari and Jennifer Tyburczy who announced an open call for artists leading to a rich variety of submissions from the community. The fourteen cutting-edge artists ultimately chosen for POLITIQUEER will feature multidisciplinary art - video, performance, visual art and more. As always, there will be food, drink, open mic and community!
